Job summary

Plexus Corp. in Neenah, WI is seeking an Intern - Product Engineer for Spring 2027 to participate in and lead scoped manufacturing engineering projects.

You will support Surface Mount and Electro-Mechanical assembly processes, focusing on safety, yield, and efficiency under a mentor. You will collaborate with Focus Factory, Site, and Corporate teams to achieve project objectives and gain hands-on experience with ECOs, DFx guidelines, and process validation to develop repeatable, scalable

Qualifications

• Student working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field for the entire duration of internship.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Lean Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Support, recognize, define, and solve problems/opportunities within the Factory.
• Assist with manufacturing process development and layout concepts.
• Review labor times and implement process improvements where opportunities arise.
• Review ECOs and provide feedback on labor impact of changes.
• Assist in Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRR) and process validation activities.
• Develop knowledge of Plexus Design for Manufacturing (DFM) guidelines.
• Assist in material receipt format decisions to optimize the manufacturing process.
• Assist in determining facility requirements for new processes or equipment, ensuring safety and ergonomics.
• Participate in customer support teams representing manufacturing and engineering.
