Job summary

Elmet Technologies is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer for its Lewiston, Maine production team. You will own manufacturing equipment and processes, collaborating with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve quality, reliability, efficiency, and capability on the floor.

This role emphasizes problem-solving on site, Lean methods, and driving cost reductions through process improvements and better tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, data-driven approach to diagnose issues.
• Ability to plan, organize, and manage time effectively.
• Project management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and collaboration across levels.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner of manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Develop, maintain, and improve process specs and work instructions.
• Monitor manufacturing results for quality and manufacturability.
• Work with planning to optimize scheduling, utilization, and capacity.
• Lead technical and process improvement projects.
• Plan and manage installation and integration of equipment.
• Provide hands-on technical support on the floor.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and costs.
