Job summary

Southeast Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor, Plumbing Technology - PTT (2026-2027) based in Milford. The position involves delivering instruction across plumbing concepts, processes, and safety, in classroom, lab, and online settings.

Responsibilities include developing course objectives, maintaining labs, advising students, and keeping records, with focus on up-to-date industry practices and safety standards. This is a part-time, temporary posting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in any field and/or AAS Degree in Plumbing Technology or a related field, and tested experience by examination during the interview process.
• The examination will include knowledge and/or physical demonstration of competencies related to soldering, safety, and installation and troubleshooting of appliances and plumbing-related equipment.
• Relevant certifications that may substitute for tested experience would include, but are not limited to, Plumbing Journeyman License, Plumbing Master’s License

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to a diverse student population in the Plumbing Technology Program, focusing on plumbing concepts, plumbing processes and practices, blueprint reading for plumbers, fuel gas system concepts and practices, and plumbing safety.
• Create visual communication presentations such as PowerPoint, Prezi, or other visual graphics software; develop instructional aids on the computer; compile a library of training films on demand, DVDs, and videos to supplement instructional techniques.
• Share responsibility for the maintenance of all instructional facilities, equipment, and program classrooms to ensure they are safe and proper working order.
• Be responsible for maintaining permanent student records on courses taught and following college policies regarding attendance, grading, and student achievement; use Canvas shells, Web Advisor, and HUB; assist with purchasing supplies.
• Participate in college activities related to professional development, diversity, and safety.
• Attend program activities and College events as requested.
