Job summary

The City of Marietta seeks a Foreperson III to lead and supervise Grounds staff responsible for landscaping and maintenance of parks and city facilities. This hands-on role coordinates crews, materials, and equipment to complete work orders efficiently.

The position requires strong supervisory, safety, and planning skills, plus the ability to read plans and oversee budget-related items. CDL is required and significant field experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressive landscaping experience.
• Two years’ experience in landscaping and plant installation.
• Ability to understand plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Valid Georgia CDL with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead execution of departmental work orders.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, and personnel to complete work orders.
• Operate departmental heavy equipment.
• Provide quality control on tasks performed by staff.
• Maintain records of employee time and production.
• Train new employees and provide guidance to staff.
