Job summary

Pieper Automation is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support engineers and project teams with hands-on exposure to industrial automation, control systems, and machine design. You will gain practical experience through structured learning, mentorship, and real-world project involvement, contributing to active projects and internal initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Enrolled in 1st year+ of Associate's or Bachelor's in Mechanical/Robotics/Automation
• Previous internship/experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Shadow Mechanical Engineers and related professionals to gain insight into engineering roles, processes, and project execution
• Participate in technical training, team meetings, and jobsite visits
• Learn and apply industry standards, tools, and best practices related to automation, machine safety, and machine design
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to strengthen communication, teamwork, and overall professional skills
• Assist Mechanical Engineers with engineering and project tasks
• Support the mechanical design team with mechanical and robotic cell design
• Review, check, and edit mechanical drawings
• Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and documentation activities
• Rotate through various functional groups to gain broad exposure to the business
• Assist teams with day-to-day administrative and project-based tasks
