Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern at our Roanoke, VA production facility. The role supports the CEG team in capital projects, equipment improvements, and reliability-focused problem solving, with hands-on engineering in a manufacturing setting.

The internship emphasizes creating maintenance resources, drawings, and documentation, and requires progress toward a bachelor’s degree in engineering, plus strong communication and proficiency in Office tools.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Ability to learn measurement tools (calipers, tape measures, feeler gauges, etc.) a plus.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support capital project execution and equipment improvements.
• Develop 2D drawings and 3D models using Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Assist with maintenance resources: PMs, manuals, spare parts, troubleshooting.
• Assist with safety, quality, uptime, ergonomics, and cost improvements.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, safety, and vendors.
