Job summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team in Canton, MS. The intern will work closely with production and cross-functional teams to solve problems, improve processes, and support day-to-day manufacturing of vehicles in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes structured problem solving, data analysis, and hands-on learning in manufacturing operations. 12-week program with opportunities to lead a summer improvement project and present results to leadership.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Students entering their Junior or Senior year at the start of the upcoming academic term.
• Initiative and willingness to learn in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for solving problems and optimizing processes.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Participation in engineering societies or STEM activities (NSBE, SME, SWE, ASME, IEEE, etc.) is a plus.
• GPA of 3.0 or above; transcripts may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Assist with investigating production concerns, analyzing data, identifying root causes, and implementing countermeasures using structured problem-solving methods.
• Support projects focused on improving manufacturing and engineering processes, efficiency, and performance.
• Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to support daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead a defined summer improvement project, including planning, implementation, results tracking, and final presentation preparation.
• Monitor and evaluate process performance while identifying opportunities for operational improvements.
