Job summary

RAM Windows & Doors in Houston, TX seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to design, fabricate, and improve jigs, fixtures, tooling, and workstations for saw, CNC, machining and assembly operations. The role reports to the Vice President of Production and sits on the production floor.

You will work with Maintenance, Quality and Planning, develop standard work, participate in Lean initiatives, and help transition production data into the ERP system.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, building or implementing tooling, fixtures, or workstations in production.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensions, tolerances and BOMs.
• Experience with CNC programming and machining processes.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and process-improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and test jigs, fixtures, gauges, templates, carts and workstations for saw, CNC, machining and assembly operations.
• Develop and optimize CNC programs; improve setup times, accuracy and throughput.
• Lead time studies, bottleneck analyses and implement standard work and visual controls.
• Translate production data into ERP/MRP systems and maintain manufacturing documentation.
