Job summary
Silgan Closures in Evansville, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support day-to-day operations on the manufacturing floor. You will work with production, maintenance, quality, and plant leadership to troubleshoot issues and drive improvements that boost safety, quality, and productivity.
You will analyze data, implement process enhancements, and lead preventive maintenance initiatives to reduce downtime.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field is required.
- 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
- Experience with production operations, process improvement, or equipment troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Partner with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support equipment reliability initiatives and preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
- Improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and production methods to increase operational performance.
- Assist with safety improvements and ensure systems comply with company and OSHA standards.
- Participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for production issues.
- Support installation, startup, and optimization of equipment and process improvements.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, engineering, and operations teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and engineering records.
- Assist with cost reduction, scrap reduction, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support and training for manufacturing processes, equipment, and new technologies.
- Monitor plant systems and manufacturing performance to ensure efficient operation.
