Silgan Closures in Evansville, Indiana, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support daily operations, troubleshoot challenges, and drive improvements across safety, quality, and productivity on the plant floor.

You’ll partner with production, maintenance, quality and plant leadership to implement process improvements, reliability initiatives, and cost-saving measures while ensuring OSHA standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting production, process improvement, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues with production and maintenance teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support equipment reliability initiatives and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
  • Improve processes, tooling, and production methods for better performance.
  • Assist with safety improvements and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Contribute to root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Support installation, startup, and optimization of equipment and processes.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, engineering, and operations to resolve challenges.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and records.
  • Assist with cost reduction, scrap reduction, and productivity initiatives.
  • Provide technical training for manufacturing processes and new technologies.
  • Monitor plant systems to ensure efficient operation.

In this role, you will work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and plant leadership to support the day-to-day performance of our manufacturing operations. What You'll Do:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll serve as a key technical resource for the Evansville manufacturing facility, supporting daily operations and driving improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and equipment performance.

  • Partner with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support equipment reliability initiatives and preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime
  • Improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and production methods to increase operational performance
  • Assist with safety improvements and ensure manufacturing systems comply with company and OSHA standards
  • Participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for production issues
  • Support the installation, startup, and optimization of equipment and process improvements

What You'll Need to Have:

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement principles
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a production environment
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software preferred
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
