Job summary

Brookside Properties in Hattiesburg, MS, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor for Arbor Walk Apartments. You will lead daily maintenance operations, supervise staff, handle work orders, and coordinate preventive maintenance while ensuring safety and high resident satisfaction.

The role requires strong HVAC diagnostic/repair skills and a track record in multifamily maintenance. On-call rotation and outdoor duties are part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of multifamily apartment maintenance experience required
• Strong HVAC diagnostic and repair experience required
• EPA Type II or Universal Certification required
• Previous maintenance supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, carpentry, and general apartment maintenance
• Pool maintenance experience preferred; CPO certification is a plus
• Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
• Reliable transportation and basic maintenance tools required
• Strong communication, organization, troubleshooting, and leadership skills
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk the property regularly

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily maintenance operations for the apartment community
• Supervise, train, and support maintenance team members
• Complete and manage resident service requests and work orders
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, and other building systems
• Perform and oversee apartment make-readies and preventive maintenance
• Coordinate vendors, contractors, and maintenance projects
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues and participate in an on-call rotation
• Maintain maintenance inventory and assist with budget control
• Inspect the community, buildings, grounds, and amenities to ensure they remain clean, safe, and well maintained
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Fair Housing, and company safety standards
• Provide professional, responsive customer service to residents
