Job summary

CHUTES International is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance & Production teams by assisting technicians with basic repair tasks, preventive maintenance, equipment prep, shop organization, and documentation. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a dependable work ethic.

You will work with the maintenance lead to identify root causes, perform safety-conscious tasks with hand and power tools, and help keep equipment

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
• Quick learner with a desire to expand technical knowledge.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality.
• Experience in a role relying on technical or mechanical knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
• Assist with repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
• Work with the maintenance lead to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with production personnel to maximize equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Assist with documentation on maintenance activities and communicate equipment status clearly.
• Continuously develop technical skills through on-the-job training and mentoring.
