Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic livestock care, health, behavior, and husbandry.

  • Collaborative and professional with staff and volunteers.
  • Remain composed in stressful situations and follow through on commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for livestock, including feeding and watering per schedules.
  • Safely handle, restrain, move, and work with livestock following safety protocols.
  • Groom horses and perform routine grooming tasks.
  • Clean, maintain, and disinfect stalls, paddocks, and housing areas.
  • Monitor animals for illness or distress and document observations.
  • Assist with administering medications and routine veterinary care.
  • Maintain accurate animal-care records and inventory.
  • Report safety hazards and assist with minor repairs as appropriate.
  • Work weekends/holidays as required to ensure continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with shelter teams to support animal welfare and operations.
