Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. seeks a hands-on Lab Support and Mechanical Support Engineer to provide end-to-end lab and mechanical support for a fast-paced post-silicon validation lab.

You will design, fabricate, install and sustain fixtures, tooling, board supports and modular lab infrastructure. The role blends CAD work with hands-on lab execution, requiring collaboration with validation engineers, automation, electrical teams, facilities and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience assembling, installing, configuring, and maintaining lab hardware.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs and mechanical docs.
• Experience with mechanical/electro-mechanical assembly and lab equipment.
• Willingness to work onsite and support rapid validation labs.

Responsibilities

• Design, draft, build, install, configure, inspect and sustain lab fixtures and hardware.
• Create or modify 3D CAD models and drawings using Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360 or Inventor.
• Provide end-to-end mechanical and lab-support for post-silicon validation.
• Develop fixtures, handler tooling, changeover kits, and rack/storage solutions.
• Support silicon testing, characterization, regression, and platform bring-up in the lab.
• Coordinate with engineers, machine shops, facilities and vendors to meet delivery timelines.
• Maintain safety, organization and ESD-compliance in a busy lab environment.
