Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota is seeking an Internal Medicine Technician Assistant to join our busy Oakdale team. You will work with veterinarians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians, and support staff to deliver excellent care during visits.

The role emphasizes patient handling, preparing exam rooms, assisting during diagnostic procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring smooth patient flow while upholding safety and infection-control standards.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary or animal-care experience.
• Comfort handling dogs and cats of different sizes and conditions.
• Willingness to learn and develop veterinary skills.
• Ability to stay organized while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safe patient handling and restraint for exams, diagnostics, and procedures.
• Prepare patients and treatment areas for Internal Medicine appointments and procedures.
• Assist LVTs and veterinarians during diagnostic procedures.
• Set up, clean, and maintain medical equipment and spaces.
• Collect basic patient information and assist with vital signs.
• Support patient comfort, cleanliness, feeding, walking, and general nursing care.
• Prepare supplies and help keep the service organized for the day.
• Assist with stocking and inventory of supplies.
• Transport patients safely between hospital areas.
• Help maintain accurate, efficient patient flow throughout the service.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members across departments.
• Follow hospital safety, infection-control, and patient-care standards.
