Job summary

Data Device Corporation is seeking an Information Security Specialist to build and operate our internal security program in Bohemia, NY. This hands-on role touches security operations, IAM, endpoint/network defense, vendor risk, compliance, and end-user enablement across IT, engineering, and business teams to keep the company secure without slowing it down.

The position is onsite at our Bohemia, NY office with a salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in information security, IT operations, or a closely related field with hands-on exposure to multiple security domains.
• Working knowledge of SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, identity providers, and cloud platforms.
• Strong fundamentals in networking, operating systems and authentication protocols.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (CMMC/Cyber Essentials+).
• Scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCIE, CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+, CISA, CRISC or similar.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day security operations including alert triage in SIEM and EDR platforms.
• Administer identity and access management systems (SSO, MFA, directories) and onboarding/offboarding.
• Maintain and improve endpoint security across the fleet (EDR health, patching, baselines).
• Assist with firewall reviews, VPN administration, segmentation, and monitoring for misconfigurations.
• Support vulnerability management: scanning, prioritizing findings, remediation tracking.
• Contribute to compliance by collecting evidence, maintaining policies, and preparing for audits (CMMC/Cyber Essentials+).
• Support vendor risk management with third-party security documentation reviews.
• Develop and deliver security awareness content and phishing simulations.
• Serve as a security contact for employees and on-call rotations.
• Document processes, runbooks, and standards to scale the program.
