Job summary

CMC is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to lead capital-improvement initiatives in Knoxville, TN. You will collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to develop budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities include evaluating scopes, coordinating construction activities, and ensuring projects stay on time, within budget, and compliant with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or 10+ years equivalent experience.
• Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution.
• Experience on industrial capital projects and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Initiate communication with external resources for initiatives.
• Develop budgets and timelines for capital improvements.
• Evaluate project scopes and risks with cost forecasts.
• CAPEX management for major asset investments.
• Prioritize requirements aligned with business objectives.
• Prepare construction specs, bid packages, schedules and permits.
• Lead engineers, operators, consultants, suppliers, and contractors.
• Coordinate project implementation with plant departments.
• Resolve issues and manage milestones end-to-end.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
