Job summary

Escondido Golf & Lake Club in Horseshoe Bay, TX is seeking a hands-on Superintendent of Horticulture & Grounds. You will lead a three-person crew, manage daily field operations, and ensure pristine grounds across all non-golf properties.

You will report to the Director of Agronomy and collaborate with the Golf Course Superintendent to align irrigation, turf, and plant material with the club's standards. This role requires outdoor work, seasonal schedules, and member-facing professionalism.

Qualifications

• Degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive horticulture or landscape management experience.
• Proven experience leading a grounds crew.
• Working knowledge of irrigation systems and IPM.
• Texas pesticide/herbicide applicator license or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Plan, install, and maintain plantings, shrubs, trees, and turf across property.
• Lead a crew of three and supervise daily scheduling and training.
• Develop and manage the horticulture budget with the Director of Agronomy.
• Maintain irrigation, drainage, and hardscape features.
• Coordinate with Golf Course Superintendent on equipment, chemicals, and water.
• Source materials and manage vendor relationships.
• Support capital projects and member events with grounds support.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
