Hawaiian Electric Company offers a Summer Internship program on Oahu, Maui and Hawaiʻi Island. Interns are paired with mentors, work on an objective-based GIS project, and participate in cross-functional activities to learn about life as part of the Hawaiian Electric 'ohana.

Requirements include being a current student, good academic standing, Fall 2027 enrollment, GPA 3.0+, and study in Urban/Regional Planning, GIS, or related fields. Official transcripts are required with application.

Qualifications

• Must be a current, active student at a post-secondary school (college or community college).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Must be attending school Fall 2027.
• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must be studying a degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, GIS, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Real Estate, Land Management or related field.
• For Summer 2027, we will accept applications from students whose expected graduation date is December 2027 or later.

Responsabilités

• GIS update and file scanning project.
• Participate in cross-functional activities to learn about life as part of the Hawaiian Electric 'ohana.
• Present project deliverables together in an open forum presentation at the end of the session.

Formation

Current student (post-secondary)

Fall 2027 enrollment

GPA 3.0 or higher

Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, GIS, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Real Estate, Land Management or related field

Expected graduation December 2027 or later
