Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated is seeking an upholsterer/assembler for AM shifts in Dayton, TN. You will hand-build upholstered furniture, work in a fast-paced, team environment, and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

The role requires standing most of the shift, using staple guns, frame guns, and air tools as part of a multi-step production cell. Responsibilities include assembling components, applying finishes, and ensuring quality by following upholstery notes and tickets.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties.
• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Completion of in-house training curriculum.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong coordination for routine, repetitive tasks.
• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching.
• Capacity to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Skilled use of hands for gripping, pulling, and tugging.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team atmosphere.
• Perform any position within the cell as needed.
• Proper use of Kan Ban containers.
• Assemble components into completed units.
• Drape, staple, and secure upholstery materials.
• Prepare frames and components for final assembly.
• Monitor quality and ensure adherence to specifications.
• Ensure proper packaging and ticket adherence.
