Job summary

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is hiring a Fleet Shop Assistant to support the Fleet Services team. You will assist Fleet Technicians, transport vehicles, perform minor repairs, operate shop equipment, and prepare retired vehicles for auction.

This hands-on role requires reliability, teamwork, and adherence to safety practices. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00am–3:30pm, with a starting hourly wage of $18.05.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent diploma recognized by DOE.
• Experience in vehicle maintenance preferred.
• Valid Florida driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Transports vehicles and equipment between locations and repair sites.
• Picks up repair parts from vendors and dealerships as needed.
• Performs minor mechanical tasks and operates shop equipment safely.
• Maintains clean, safe work area and supports Fleet Technicians.
