Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego, CA is seeking a Firefighter Intern (Part Time) to observe and assist in emergency medical care and fire responses, with supervised training over up to six months.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Fire Science classes or recently completed a fire academy.
• Must have basic knowledge of firefighting concepts and practical application.
• Current EMT and CPR certificate.
• Prefer CPAT or BIDDLE certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support fire and emergency calls under supervision.
• Lay hoses, carry and set up ladders, and operate fire equipment.
• Administer first aid.
• Observe pre-fire and fire prevention inspections and participate in drills.
