Job summary

WSP is seeking a full-time Early Career Environmental Scientist in Savannah, GA to support site investigation and remediation projects. You will work with project managers, engineers, and senior professionals on site conditions, data collection, and technical reporting.

The role emphasizes field work, environmental sampling, regulatory compliance, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Willingness to travel up to 75% and pass safety requirements is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or closely related discipline.
• Ability to obtain professional licensure (EIT/PE).
• 0–1 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, field investigation, remediation, or related technical field.
• Interest in site investigation, environmental sampling, remediation, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to perform field work in varying weather conditions and environments.
• Ability to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally or regionally for field assignments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to documentation and reporting.
• Proactive safety mindset and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and site reconnaissance.
• Conduct field investigations: soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapor, and air sampling.
• Support installation and sampling of monitoring wells and other investigation points.
• Document field activities with notes, photos, logs and chain-of-custody records.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, labs, drillers, and internal teams for field execution.
• Assist with data review, interpretation of analyses, and preparation of technical reports.
• Support remediation activities including excavation oversight and groundwater monitoring.
• Follow health and safety requirements and participate in job safety briefings.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, supporting project logistics.
• Travel for field work as required by project needs.
