Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance in Honolulu seeks a Maintenance Apprentice to gain hands-on experience in building maintenance, groundskeeping, and safety practices. You will work closely with a maintenance technician and building engineers to learn machinery, repair techniques, and safety protocols while performing daily upkeep of the property.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Must pass HBM prescreen check.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Customer-service oriented mindset.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational abilities.
• Willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on building systems (plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, painting, drywall, grounds maintenance).
• Access tight spaces as needed.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are functioning; conduct repairs as necessary.
• Deliver outstanding customer service when interacting with property managers, vendors, and clients.
• Move and lift between 50 to 75 pounds as required.
• Create and maintain work orders and purchase orders.
• Complete any additional maintenance tasks assigned by the Site Supervisor or Chief Engineer.
