Job summary

Palmer Companies, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to oversee the door fabrication department, manage the fabrication schedule, and coordinate with fabricators, machine operators, and delivery functions to ensure timely project completion.

The role involves reading shop drawings, creating fabrication drawings, and programming RhinoFAB machines and glazing software to ensure accurate dimensions and quality. On-site position with a focus on developing manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate solid computer skills and the ability to manage electronic files and emails independently.
• Show technical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem solving in a manufacturing setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to coordinate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage the fabrication schedule for the door fabrication department, anticipating deadlines and bottlenecks.
• Program and maintain Door RhinoFAB machines and glazing software for cutting, drilling, and routing aluminum.
• Read shop drawings, blueprints, and plans to ensure accurate fabrication dimensions.
• Create fabrication drawings detailing dimensions, door swings, hardware, and custom fabrications.
• Coordinate with fabricators, machine operators, receiving and delivery teams to support timelines.
• Maintain quality control standards and support process improvements.
