Job summary

Chicago Tube & Iron (CTI) is seeking an experienced Fabrication Plant Manager to lead our fabrication operations and drive operational excellence across safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.

This hands-on leader will oversee welding, laser cutting, bending, forming, machining, and secondary manufacturing processes, building a strong, accountable workforce and partnering with engineering, quality, and sales to support growth.

Qualifications

• Extensive manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience in metal fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of Lean and 5S.
• Familiarity with ISO quality systems.
• Experience leading supervisors and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily fabrication operations: welding, laser cutting, bending, forming, machining, and secondary processes.
• Direct schedules, staffing, workflow, and equipment utilization to meet customer commitments.
• Identify bottlenecks; improve throughput, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Sales to support new products and growth.
• Champion safety and quality; build a safety-first culture and ensure compliance.
• Maintain ISO quality standards; lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Improve processes, labor efficiency, machine performance, and profitability.
• Build and develop Production Supervisors and fabrication employees; HR collaboration on recruiting and performance.
• Monitor performance metrics; set expectations; report progress to leadership.
