Job summary

Williamson County is seeking a maintenance/groundskeeping worker to perform day-to-day event set-up/tear-down, custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping duties at the Expo Center. Occasional shifts at other Williamson County Park locations.

Responsibilities include assisting in constructing/staging horse stalls, maintaining arena footing, and providing direct customer service. Position requires physical labor and operation of equipment in outdoor and indoor environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 1 year of related work experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Demonstrated skill and ability in grounds maintenance, basic landscaping, and basic plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Assists in construction and deconstruction of horse stalls and livestock panels, tables/chairs and other event related items.
• Maintains arena footing conditioning.
• Cleans and disinfects horse stalls and wash racks.
• Cleans and maintains safety standards throughout the event center complex, including common areas and seating areas.
• Operates a variety of motorized equipment and hand-held tools.
• Performs basic maintenance and repairs related to plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, and cleaning.
• Inspects and cleans and maintains all equipment and vehicles.
• Assists with managing efforts of temporary labor staff and volunteers.
