Job summary

Craven County Government seeks an Event Preparation Assistant to support the Riverfront Convention Center's day-to-day events, including setup, teardown, and upkeep of public areas.

The role requires physical work, ability to lift, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays; disaster response may be required. Training and supervision provided by the Convention Center Director.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Experience with event setups or custodial duties preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual duties including lifting tables, chairs, staging, and AV equipment for events.
• Provide backup support to staff for setup and teardowns as needed.
• Read event orders and floor plans to determine equipment needs.
• Maintain irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform other duties as required and assist during disasters.
