Job summary

Northwood Space is seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Intern to join our team and work on embedded systems powering our ground stations. You’ll collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software engineers to integrate systems and validate real-time performance.

You will gain hands-on experience with embedded Linux, hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB), and system-level development while contributing to production-relevant projects and documentation across the full stack.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a technical field (CS/CE/EE).
• Experience programming in C, C++, Rust, Python or similar through coursework or internships.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test software for Linux-based embedded devices.
• Contribute to embedded Linux tooling, system configuration, and user-space applications.
• Help develop and improve OTA software update capabilities.
