Job summary

LiquidPiston, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Suffield, CT. This paid, full‑time internship offers hands‑on experience on electrical and control systems powering our next‑generation engines.

You will work with embedded firmware, sensors, and hardware testing, contribute to circuit and firmware development in C, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot real engine systems.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits.
• Proficiency in C or C++ programming.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, generators).
• Willingness to work onsite five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Support design, prototyping, and testing of analog/digital circuits and power electronics.
• Perform hands-on electrical testing and troubleshooting with lab equipment.
• Assist with schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware prototyping using Altium.
• Develop, test, and debug embedded firmware in C for TI C2000 MCUs.
• Support integration and testing of sensors and communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, RS-232).
• Document test results and technical findings; collaborate across disciplines.
