Job summary

Monolyth Technologies is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to own embedded hardware development for drone systems in San Diego. You will design, test, and iterate firmware, RF subsystems, and power solutions used in field deployments.

Ideal candidates have hardware-focused experience, soldering skills, and familiarity with FPV drone integration, CAD, and rapid prototyping. On-site work in Torrey Pines with travel as needed; U.S. citizenship is required due to defense-related projects.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience building, prototyping, testing, or troubleshooting electronic systems.
• Hands-on soldering experience required.
• Experience building, configuring, repairing, or flying FPV drones is highly desirable.
• Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
• Experience supporting manufacturing and developing clear work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug embedded firmware (C/C++) for microcontrollers.
• Work on RF systems, including radios and antenna design.
• Perform hardware debugging with oscilloscopes and lab equipment.
• Solder, prototype, and assemble electronic systems.
• Build, configure, test, and troubleshoot FPV drone systems.
• Use 3D printing and CAD to support hardware development.
• Support prototype and low-volume manufacturing activities.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and procedures.
• Assist with testing, validation, and iteration of new drone platforms.
• Help automate and improve internal engineering processes.
• Travel as needed to support testing, demonstrations, and field operations.
