Job summary

Butcher Power Products is seeking an EHS Specialist, Field Safety to partner on the production floor, identify hazards and coach employees on safe work practices across fabrication, assembly and office areas.

The role supports incident investigations, corrective actions and compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations, with a focus on continuous safety improvements in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with safety-focused education or 3+ years in manufacturing safety.
• 3+ years in a safety-focused role within production/manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety walks, observations and engage employees to promote a strong safety culture.
• Identify unsafe conditions, exercise stop-work authority, and address risks.
• Develop and maintain job hazard analyses with staff and supervisors.
• Support machine guarding, ergonomics, crane, welding, electrical safety topics and LOTO.
• Deliver safety training: orientation, toolbox talks and refresher sessions.
• Assist operator qualification activities for powered industrial trucks and cranes.
• Respond to incidents, gather data, and support root-cause investigations.
• Track hazards, corrective actions, and follow-up through resolution.
• Support contractor safety activities, drills, PPE readiness and hygiene initiatives.
• Maintain records for compliance, audits and continuous improvement.
