Job summary

Butcher Power Products is seeking an EHS Specialist, Field Safety to partner with active manufacturing operations across our sites in Canada. The role remains on the production floor, identifies hazards, coaches employees, delivers training, supports incident investigations, and drives corrective actions to completion.

You will promote safe practices in fabrication, assembly, and electrical testing while ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or safety education, or 3+ years hands-on safety experience.
• 3+ years in a safety-focused role in production/manufacturing environments.
• Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations.
• Experience delivering safety training to industrial staff.
• Strong documentation and follow-through skills.
• Valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety walks, observations, and employee engagement activities.
• Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors; exercise stop-work authority when needed.
• Develop and maintain job hazard analyses with employees and supervisors.
• Support machine guarding, ergonomics, material handling, and electrical safety evaluations.
• Deliver new hire orientation, toolbox talks, and equipment-specific training.
• Support operator qualification activities for forklifts, aerial lifts, and cranes.
• Respond to incidents and near misses; assist root cause investigations.
• Track hazards and corrective actions through to verified resolution.
• Support contractor safety activities, drills, PPE readiness, and inspections.
• Maintain records and provide documentation for audits and continuous improvement.
