Job summary

All Care Homecare, LLC. is seeking a compassionate caregiver/DSP to support a 28-year-old man with autism, epilepsy, and a moderate intellectual disability.

The role emphasizes proactive engagement, patient interaction, and individualized support to encourage expression and independence using a speech-generating device. The candidate should be hands-on, interactive, and dependable, able to maintain supervision and safety while fostering daily activities, communication, and social engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or Direct Support Professional roles preferred.
• Familiarity with autism, epilepsy, or intellectual disabilities is a plus.
• Comfort with using and supporting a speech-generating communication device.
• Patient, attentive, interactive, dependable, and able to engage throughout shifts.
• Able to follow care plans and seizure response procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain active supervision and engage with the client throughout the shift.
• Support the client in using his speech-generating device and encourage communication.
• Offer choices, ask questions, and respond to needs and preferences.
• Lead interactive activities, games, hobbies, and activities aligned with his interests.
• Support social interaction, communication, and skill development through daily tasks.
• Assist with activities of daily living: hygiene, dressing, grooming, and personal care.
• Follow epilepsy seizure action plan and agency procedures; recognize seizures and respond.
