Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Data Center Technician to guide the flow of physical tech in the warehouse and integration center, where racks are built, configured, and tested for customer deployments.

The role requires reading rack elevations and cable matrices, performing hardware upgrades, and coordinating with field teams at customer sites. Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• A+ certification is preferred.
• BIOS and Active Directory experience.
• IDRAC and DURBL experience.
• Ability to read rack elevation and cable matrix documentation.
• Able to plan and prioritize against challenging projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Racking: read Rack Elevation; rack and stack servers and network hardware.
• Cable Matrix: interpret cables per customer standards.
• Labeling: apply labels to cables.
• Asset Tracking: maintain inventory until rack build completion.
• Hardware Upgrades: install memory, CPUs, expansion cards, modules.
• Benching/Un-benching: configure, test, and relocate items.
• Boxing/Shipping prep: package items for shipping.
• Asset Management: record serials, MACs, and asset tags.
• Support field teams with service and repairs.
• Understand and follow security and operational policies.
