Job summary

GCS Recruitment seeks an hands-on ISP Engineer (Rack & Stack) to support data center and network infrastructure installations at a customer site in Illinois. The role focuses on physical installation and cabling of rack and fiber infrastructure, with an emphasis on cable management and accurate documentation.

The ideal candidate will perform fiber sorting, termination, and testing, while adhering to safety and customer-site standards and communicating effectively with project teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with rack and stack installations.
• Experience terminating and routing fiber within data centers.
• Ability to read floor plans, rack elevations, and port maps.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack and stack installations of cabinets, racks, equipment, cable trays, and fiber raceways.
• Install, route, and manage fiber optic cabling within the data center.
• Terminate and connect fiber patch cords to FDPs and ODFs.
• Perform basic fiber testing after installation to verify connectivity.
• Maintain proper cable management, labeling, and documentation standards.
• Read and work from installation documentation and floor plans.
• Coordinate with project management and engineering teams to meet timelines.
• Follow safety and customer site standards.
• Work directly in a customer-facing data center environment.
