GCS Recruitment Specialists are hiring a hands-on Datacenter Installation Specialist to support data center infrastructure deployments. The role focuses on rack and stack, fiber infrastructure installation, structured cabling, hardware deployment, and ongoing support within a data center environment.

This position requires experience in data centers, fiber optics, structured cabling, and network infrastructure installations, with on-site work in Illinois.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data center installs or network deployments.
• Hands-on with servers, switches, cabling, and rack equipment.
• Experience reading rack elevations and deployment plans.

Responsibilities

• Install and rack servers, switches, storage, and network gear.
• Perform rack and stack, including rails, cabinets, PDUs, cabling.
• Route, terminate, and document fiber and copper cabling.
• Install fiber infrastructure, patch panels, and ODFs.
• Conduct fiber testing and troubleshooting.
• Support hardware upgrades and break-fix activities.
• Read rack elevations and deployment docs.
• Maintain installation records and asset documentation.
• Assist data center expansion and upgrades.
• Collaborate with engineering, PM, and operations.
