Job summary

ServicePoint IT is seeking a skilled Structured Cabling/Low Technician in the Northern Virginia/MD region to perform cabling and fiber installations in large-scale mission critical environments. This hands-on role focuses on installation, testing, and documentation of structured cabling systems within data centers, ensuring reliable network infrastructure for enterprise operations.

Candidates should have 3+ years of cabling experience, read blueprints, and follow OSHA safety guidelines.

Qualifications

3+ years of structured cabling experience in data centers or enterprise environments.
Experience with CAT5/CAT6 and fiber optic cabling installation and termination.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
Proficiency with cable testing tools (e.g., Fluke).
Physically capable: lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Install, terminate, and test CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling in data center environments.
Perform cable pulls, routing, dressing, labeling, and documentation.
Work with patch panels, racks, and network equipment to ensure clean installations.
Conduct site assessments and pre-installation planning for efficiency and cable management.
Troubleshoot cabling issues and perform quality assurance.
Follow OSHA and safety guidelines for heights and confined spaces.
Collaborate with other technicians and infrastructure teams on deployment projects.
