A technology service provider is seeking a detail-oriented Data Center Technician for structured cabling and cable pulling in mission-critical environments. Responsibilities include installing, routing, and testing copper and fiber optic cables while ensuring adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate possesses 1–3+ years of experience in structured cabling and is comfortable working in data center settings. Qualifications
1–3+ years of experience in structured cabling or data center environments.
Experience pulling and dressing large cable bundles in commercial or data center settings.
Knowledge of copper and fiber standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI preferred).
Ability to read blueprints, rack elevations, and cable schedules.
Comfortable working at heights (ladders/lifts) and in confined spaces.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Responsibilities
Pull, route, and secure copper and fiber optic cables in overhead trays and under floors.
Install and terminate structured cabling systems, including patch panels and fiber enclosures.
Perform cable dressing, bundling, and Velcro management according to data center standards.
Label cables according to TIA/EIA and company standards.
Test and troubleshoot cabling using certification testers.
Install cable tray systems, ladder racks, and support structures.
Maintain accurate documentation, cable maps, and as-built drawings.
Work within active data center environments without disrupting live equipment.
Follow all safety procedures including proper lifting techniques.
Coordinate with network engineers and project managers.
