Job summary

SHR Talent in Sarasota, FL partners with a growth-oriented company to recruit a Controller who will lead the accounting function, strengthen processes, and enhance financial infrastructure to support scale.

This hands-on accounting leader will combine strategic finance with detailed execution, partnering with executives and operations while driving improvements across multiple entities and locations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
• Experience in multi-entity, multi-location, or acquisition-driven environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, consolidations, and internal controls.
• Experience supporting acquisitions and integrating businesses is desirable.
• Experience leading and developing accounting teams; ERP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the accounting function including month-end close and financial reporting.
• Oversee multiple entities and operating locations with scalable policies and controls.
• Partner with executives to provide insights into financial performance.
• Drive process improvements, reporting automation, and system optimization.
• Support annual audit, tax, and external reporting requirements.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff and coordinate integration of acquisitions.
