Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions is seeking an Accounting Manager for a commercial construction/project-based business in the United States. The role leads a three-person accounting team, closes monthly books, handles AP/AR, and partners with project managers to deliver timely financial reporting.

Ideal candidates bring 5–10 years of accounting experience, strong QuickBooks Online skills, and a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to process improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience required.
• Prior experience supervising or leading accounting staff.
• Strong understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, GL, cash flow and financial reporting.
• Construction, specialty contracting, installation or other project/job-cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Highly tech-savvy and comfortable adopting new software and systems.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Hands-on, organized and comfortable working directly with an entrepreneurial owner.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day accounting operations and a three-person accounting team.
• Manage month-end close, general ledger and account reconciliations.
• Oversee AP, AR, collections and customer billing.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare short-term cash-flow forecasts.
• Strengthen job-costing and project-accounting processes.
• Develop and maintain appropriate accounting controls.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with the owner.
• Work closely with project managers and project coordinators.
• Identify opportunities to automate, streamline and improve accounting processes.
• Coordinate with outside CPA and other financial partners.
