Job summary

The Garrett Companies is seeking a Construction Intern to support Project Managers and Engineers on active construction projects. This in-office role will also offer exposure to on-site activities, giving a holistic view of how a project team operates together from planning to completion.

You will shadow a PM, visit sites, and assist with documentation, bid analysis, scheduling, and reporting while gaining hands-on experience and mentorship within a growing team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Construction Management or related major.
• Experience with marketing, public speaking, and presentations is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team of professionals.
• Relentless problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a Project Manager to understand day-to-day responsibilities of overseeing a construction project.
• Visit construction sites and track progress; travel to the site will be part of the internship.
• Support construction team with subcontractor coordination, material tracking, file management, document control, and progress reporting.
• Assist with bid analysis, schedule, scope review, and contract drafting.
• Generate project reports to site team and subcontractors.
