The City of Winston-Salem offers a Community Intern position in a city recreation setting. You will assist with athletics, aquatics, recreation centers, and events under supervision, completing 12 weeks at 40 hours per week (480 hours total). Hours vary between 7:00 a.m.

and 10:00 p.m., with some weekends as needed. Qualifications include enrollment in a related four-year program, a minimum 3.0 GPA, 120 practicum hours, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a four-year accredited university or college studying parks and recreation, leisure services, sports management, or related degree.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Completion of a minimum of 120 fieldwork/practicum hours.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Responsabilités

• Oversee or assist with department programs and events; shadow or perform tasks across divisions and facilities.
• Prepare reports and attend department meetings.
• Assist with large special event planning and implementation.
• Submit weekly journals and meet with supervisor.

Formation

Enrollment in a four-year parks and recreation, leisure services, sports management or related degree

Minimum GPA 3.0

Completion of 120 hours of fieldwork/practicum
