Job summary

ERI, the largest fully integrated electronics recycler and IT asset disposition provider in the United States, seeks a hands-on Quality Control Supervisor to own commodity and production quality across the facility. You will lead quality programs, collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Environmental teams, and drive continuous improvement to maximize recovery and value.

You will train staff, develop SOPs, monitor KPIs, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commodity processing, recycling, manufacturing, metals, or a related industry.
• 3+ years supervising or managing a team.
• Strong working knowledge of commodity grading, specifications, contamination control, and material recovery.
• Experience building and implementing quality control programs — not just following them.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and train people at every level of an operation.
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving instincts; clear communication across departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data analysis, and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inspection, classification, and quality verification of all incoming feedstock and commodities.
• Make sure every outgoing commodity meets customer, smelter, refinery, and downstream processor specifications.
• Build and maintain the quality standards for each material stream — these become the facility’s playbook.
• Monitor contamination levels and drive corrective action when something drifts.
• Run routine sampling, testing, analysis, and reporting; verify grades before shipment.
• Monitor production to keep commodity quality and recovery rates consistent.
• Conduct quality audits across shredding, sorting, and material recovery.
• Partner with Operations and Maintenance to improve recovery and cut contamination.
• Establish and track the quality KPIs the facility runs on.
• Design and deliver quality control training for production employees and supervisors.
• Train staff on commodity identification, contamination prevention, and inspection procedures.
• Provide refresher training and corrective coaching as needed.
• Build a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the facility.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports; track trends and corrective actions.
• Maintain quality records and customer specifications; lead improvement initiatives.
