Job summary

Grange Insurance seeks a motivated commercial lines intern in Columbus, OH to gain hands-on experience in product development, market analysis, and underwriting strategy while supporting pricing projects.

You’ll assist with research, develop rating worksheets in Excel, prepare rate filings and coverage forms, and collaborate with underwriting, actuary, claims, and compliance teams.

Part-time role, 10–15 hours per week, for six months with hybrid/remote options and a flexible start date.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the research, development, and maintenance of commercial lines insurance products (e.g., general liability, commercial property, workers' compensation, business auto).
• Assist with building and maintaining rating worksheets in Excel to support product pricing and analysis.
• Help prepare product documentation, rate filings, and coverage forms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including underwriting, actuarial, claims, and compliance.
• Contribute to various special projects and initiatives.
