The Process Engineer II acts as a technical resource for production and quality teams, applying GD&T, Lean manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma to drive measurable improvements while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field, or equivalent hands‑on manufacturing experience.
  • 3–7 years of experience in CNC machining process engineering or manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong hands‑on experience supporting CNC machining operations in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working in high‑precision machining environments with tight tolerances.
  • Solid working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Experience applying Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Tool/Fixture Design knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team‑based manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Hands‑on CNC Machining & Programming: support machining operations on the shop floor, develop and optimize CNC processes for tight‑tolerance components, create and validate CNC programs.
  • Troubleshoot complex machining, tooling, and fixturing issues in real time with machinists.
  • Support DFM reviews with emphasis on process capability and tolerance control.
  • Ensure machining processes meet highly precise tolerance requirements.
  • Own assigned machining processes from setup through production sustainment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements reducing scrap, rework, and cycle time variation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective actions for process issues.
  • Develop and maintain standardized work instructions, setup sheets, and process documentation.
  • GD&T & Quality Integration: interpret drawings, support first article inspections, capability studies, and process monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Quality to address nonconformances and improve process stability.
  • Lean, 5S & Six Sigma: support Lean initiatives, 5S, visual management, and Six Sigma projects.
  • Cross‑functional manufacturing support: design fixturing, assist with tooling improvements, support new product introductions.
