Job summary

IMEG Corporation in Billings, MT, is offering a Civil Engineering Intern position for a 10–12 week summer program. You will work with experienced engineers on design, field inspections, permit applications, and site drainage. You will support residential and land development projects while gaining hands-on exposure in a 100% employee-owned firm.

The internship provides mentorship, real project work, and potential for full-time opportunities. Sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
• May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing
• Strong interest in design consulting
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment and resources.
• Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement.
