Job summary

DOWL is seeking an Intern to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection team in Medford, Oregon. The role provides engineering assistance to manage and inspect civil infrastructure projects and perform in-service inspections of structures.

We value hands-on, detail-oriented students who can support project teams in documenting conditions, performing calculations, and monitoring quality and progress on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum one to two years of college-level course work toward a civil engineering degree.
• Pursuing a B.S. in civil engineering, environmental engineering or construction engineering technology.
• Prior work experience in construction or civil engineering related fields is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Establish and document existing conditions at project sites through research and site visits.
• Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering construction projects.
• Conduct site visits to construction projects to monitor quality and progress of the work.
• Perform construction inspection of transportation and heavy civil projects.
• Assist in the in-service inspection of structures including bridges, walls, culverts, and tanks.
• Other engineering related duties as assigned.
