Job summary

Combined Selection Group Ltd in North Jersey is seeking a hands-on Scientist for Bakery Applications & Product Development to advance dry-blended bakery ingredient systems from lab to commercial production. This role centers on formulation, testing, sensory evaluation and close collaboration with R&D, QA and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Cereal Science, Bakery Science or related discipline.
• 1–2+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Hands-on bakery formulation, product development or bakery applications.
• Strong understanding of ingredient functionality within bakery systems.
• Experience with formulation calculations and nutritional profiles.
• Familiarity with dry-blended ingredient systems or premixes.
• Clean-label formulation experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of shelf-life extension technologies is beneficial.
• Experience supporting scale-up or commercial manufacturing trials.
• Hands-on R&D work in laboratory and bakery applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize dry-blended bakery ingredient formulations for customer and internal projects.
• Conduct hands-on mixing, formulation, baking trials, sample prep, testing and sensory evaluation.
• Understand ingredient functionality and interactions within bakery systems.
• Perform formulation and nutritional calculations and evaluate products.
• Support reformulation and technology transfer to commercial production.
• Collaborate with manufacturing during scale-up and production trials.
• Provide technical support on the production floor to ensure consistent performance.
