Job summary

Balchem Corporation invites applications for a Senior Food Scientist in the Applications R&D team. This role applies scientific rigor to bakery manufacturing challenges, guiding projects from concept through scale-up and commercialization of innovative Balchem ingredients.

The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Regulatory teams, lead complex projects, and mentor fellow scientists while advancing safety and quality in domestic and international

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field with 8+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong GMP, HACCP, FDA regulations, and sanitation knowledge.
• Advanced problem solving, data analysis, and evaluation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and deliver results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture across all activities and projects.
• Drive multiple complex projects with timeliness and quality.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and other R&D teams to translate needs into insights.
• Design and execute experiments to support business strategy.
• Mentor other scientists and deliver status reports.
